Our Thea Dress was designed to feel fresh and comfortable. Wearable for any occasion, it is the perfect dress for a simple and elegant look. As for a whole day staying at home, to the beach, to a stroll around the city.
For our Thea design, we work in collaboration with a female entrepreneur in Iztapalapa, State of Mexico, who at the same time collaborates with crochet artisans from the area.
Thea is loose-fitting, so it fits many sizes. It is estimated to fit up to a size 46 EU. It is made to look flowy and has a very soft and relaxed fall. It also has a lovely open back. The length is 135cm.
The dress is made of a linen blend. Linen has a history that goes back thousands of years, with different sources pointing at different dates, from 10.000 to 36.000 years old.
The flax plant — from which the fabric derives — grows on a yearly basis and doesn’t demand any significant amounts of water. Linen combines very high strength, high water-absorbency and smoothness with the ability to dry faster than cotton. It’s also stronger than cotton. Unlike many other textiles, it is very low in elasticity. However, after repetitive wear and washes, it will develop it.
Linen is notoriously laborious to manufacture.
